OVERVIEW
Welcome to Mongolia!
Here are some interesting facts about our country: Mongolia is the world’s 18th biggest country by territory with only three million people living here. Over 1.5 million square kilometers of land is inhabited by the last nomads and unique wild animals like the red fox, grey wolf, and snow leopards.
The Snow Leopard photo expedition is drawing a lot of local wildlife enthusiasts to Mongolia because there are greater chances of spotting or photographing them at lower elevations than in the rest of the world.
The Mongolian Altai region is home to the country’s largest snow leopard population and rare animals, many of which are endangered species.
Did you know that around 15% of the world’s elusive snow leopards live in Mongolia? There are over 1,000 snow leopards in our country.
Tour Information About Snow Leopards: Snow leopards have evolved to tolerate harsh freezing temperatures. Their thick white-gray coat, speckled with large black rosettes, mixes in perfectly with Central Asia's steep and rocky, high mountains.
Their natural habitats are often in Mongolia and northern India (the Himalayan Mountains). Snow leopards are often referred to as "the grey ghost of the mountains" because of their incredible natural camouflage, which allows them to blend in with their rough surroundings.
The snow leopard has powerful hind legs and can jump up to 50 feet. These large cats use their long tails to balance and warm themselves, protecting delicate parts from the harsh mountain chill. They are shy and reclusive, and are rarely spotted in the wild.
For years, this beautiful cat has ruled the mountain ranges. Snow leopards frequently live in mountainous, rocky environments. The mountains supply a plethora of prey, such as blue sheep, Argali wild sheep, Siberian ibex, marmots, pikas, and hare. The breeding season for snow leopards is late winter and early spring.
Currently, it is doubtful that their wild prey animals would arrive frequently in their area.Currently, it is doubtful that their wild prey animals would arrive frequently in their area. That is why male snow leopards require so much territory; they can live in an area as large as 80 square miles, which is roughly three times the size of Manhattan. Female snow leopards require less space and typically cover 48 square kilometers.

On this once-in-a-lifetime photo tour, we'll go across our tracking region with professional spotters to locate and track Snow Leopards. We exclusively collaborate with the best conservationists, researchers, and field teams, not just to track snow leopards but also to rescue them and their habitat.
We will identify the greatest sites to picture wild snow leopards. There are two primary locations where we may see elusive snow leopards.
The first is Siilkhemiin Nuruu (Saylyugem Mountains), which is located in the southeast region of the Altai Mountains.
The second place is Khukh Serkhiin Mountain, which is a protected area.
Tour Expectations You Should Keep in Mind
Our major goal is for you to have a good time while taking excellent photos of the extraordinary wild animals that wander Mongolia. To achieve these goals, please consider the following:
Photographing wild animals requires dedication and effort.
During this tour, you will spend a significant amount of time in a car or jeep, either in the sun or in the shade. Our major purpose is to find and photograph wildlife.
To take beautiful images of animals in the outdoors, you may have to wait a long time - possibly hours.
Snow Leopard photo tours necessitate large lenses because they are often quite distant. So get some nice cameras and record them in their natural environment. When photographing these cats, having a variety of lenses is usually useful. Telephoto lenses might also be effective on days when snow leopards are difficult to spot.
We CANNOT promise that a specific kind of animal will be spotted or photographed. To ensure the highest level of success, we have selected the best area and guides who have previously found tigers and other species.
Do not be discouraged, however. It is feasible to take good natural snow leopard photos.
The ultimate goal of every picture excursion is to get close to snow leopards. The best way to see these animals is to watch them hunt. There are techniques to boost your chances of seeing a snow leopard hunt.
When searching for snow leopards, our specialists frequently come across prey species such as blue sheep, big Tibetan sheep, and argali. They try to figure out how these prey species work when they come across them. When multiple local creatures, such as Pallas's cat, blue sheep, or ibex, stare in the same direction, it usually indicates that something has aroused their interest.
Of course, if the herd seems quiet, it is possible that a snow leopard is around; it simply means that they have not discovered it. Our trackers frequently spot snow leopards (and even wolves) trying to sneak up on an unsuspecting herd.
After thousands of hours of observation, we know snow leopards prefer to stalk downward. An uphill chase takes a lot of energy, and in this hard environment, the snow leopard cannot afford to waste it. This is an ideal season to photograph snow leopards in Mongolia's remote regions.
Come enjoy an unforgettable vacation in distant western Mongolia!
