Itinerary

Day 1

1 DAY FLY FROM ULAANBAATOR TO ULGII

We will fly to Ulgii City, in the Bayan-Ulgii province in Western Mongolia, about a 3-hour flight. The population of this province is mostly Kazakh, with their own culture and language. 

Our Discover Kazakh Nomads team will welcome you at Olgii Airport. The Bayan-Olgii province is known for its majestic Altai Mountains and nomadic eagle hunters.

The tour will be led by a local English-speaking guide, an experienced car driver, and an expedition cook. Drive to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Arrive in White River Valley, which is the national park's south entrance.

Accommodation: Stay overnight in a Ger
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Total driving time: 6 hours more or less

Day 2

2 DAY DRIVE TO ALTAI TAVAN BOGD NP & WHITE RIVER VALLEY

You will have breakfast after that you will head off the day’s journey to Tavan Bogd Nat’l Park passing through ever-changing wilderness scenery such as an expansive rocky plain valley, the rugged peaks of the Altai, and the stunning wilderness terrain of the Tavan Bogd Nat’l Park. Your journey takes via Ulaan-khus and will go stop to explore numerous petroglyphs and Turkic stones. Bayan-Ulgii’s rich archaeological remains are a reminder of the Bronze Age civilization and the Hun and Turkic invasions.

You will meet a throat singer and Archer shooting in Tsengel and have lunch then drive to the White River.

We will drive to SHIVEET KHAIHAN sacred mountain to see petroglyphic complexes of the Mongolian Altai / Turkic Period 7th and 8th centuries AD\

We will walk a while to see the view and Tavan Bogd massif mountain, see 20km long Potanin glacier.

The landscape is breathtaking, accentuated by Mongolia’s longest glaciers and snow-capped mountains. If are lucky you will be able to see some of the animals leaving here, including ibex with long curved horns, deer with chandelier antlers, mounted bowmen, camels drawing wagons, snow leopards, and wolves.

We will visit nomadic families see their culture and take pictures when needed and stay overnight there.

The total trip will take about 7 hours with stops. Overnight stay in a Nomad family. (B/L/D)

Day 3

3 DAY WHITE RIVER < POTANIN GLACIER

After breakfast we start hiking around the base camp at the foot of the Tavan Bogd Altai mountains, you can hire horses from the ranger station and make the trip a bit shorter/easier. The hike is through very pretty, very open countryside, the vast valleys are devoid of trees and surrounded by imposing peaks.

Overnight stay with Tuvan nomadic Family. (B/L/D)

Day 4

DAY 4 MEETING WITH EAGLE HUNTER & DRIVE BACK TO ULGII

After breakfast, we will drive back to Ulgii. On the way, we will stop in Sagsai Soum which is a small village to meet The Eagle hunter. He will show you their training methods and you will be introduced to the art of eagle hunting and can talk with the hunters about how he trains and hunts with his eagle. The tradition of hunting with Eagles goes back thousands of years in central Asia.And watch how they take care of their animals and help them with processing dairy products and sample their traditional food. Explore the real way of living of a regular Kazakh nomadic family. To personally experience their friendliness and hospitality. You will have a chance to shoot some photos and hold the eagle in your hand.

You will have dinner at a restaurant 

In the evening after you will reach Bayan Ulgii you will stay in a Kazakh nomad's guest house and Take a good hot shower. /B/L/D)

Day 5

5 DAY FLY BACK TO ULAANBAATOR

In the early morning after breakfast, we would be ready for Departure.Transfer to the airport
